Fetopia - A Womb With A View
Your Northern Kentucky roller derby league, United We Skate, are holding a fall festival, Fist Full of Fun. It will be insanity, with carnival games, free food from local businesses and the rollergirls themselves, and countless prizes worth thousands of dollars donated from local businesses, including gift certificates to restaurants, hair salons, and tattoo shops.
NO admission, and feel free to bring children.
We are also collecting items for the Freestore Foodbank. Think wintery: blankets, coats, hats, etc.
And just try to beat my elderly ass at Black 'N' Blue Bingo!

I am sponsoring a contest right now over at the forums for United We Skate, Northern Kentucky Rollergirls.
It is located here:
The prize is 20 fetuses of your choice, from anywhere and everywhere on Fetopia.net! So head over and sign up, it only takes about 5 minutes, and the prize is potentially worth as much as $50.
You people are fucking sick!"
These emails make my day! Seriously! Keep them coming, anonymooses!
Someday I will release a book solely comprised of the emails I've received about fetos.
For this month's Sampler, I contributed 300 Wishing Sprouts:
These sprouts were specially made as part of my son's first birthday gift. We are collecting birthday greetings from all over the world at Oscar's Birthday Page.
For every birthday greeting we receive, we'll donate $1 to Children's Organ Transplant Association.
So if you have some free time, please visit the page and leave a message. And if you have subscribed to the Sampler this month, enjoy your Wishing Sprout.

I'm so happy!
Ahh, I feel so awesome right now. Because: I've finally completed my goal. FeTO is now strong and self-sustaining enough to be able to do what I've always wanted to do, which is make 100% of the proceeds from Cute Little Sprouts benefit different charities.
If you visit Cute Little Sprouts,
you'll notice that on each individual sprout page, there is a dropdown menu with 10 different charities listed. Whenever you purchase a sprout, you can select any of these 10 charities, and absolutely 100% of your purchase will go directly to that organization. By default, all proceeds will benefit COTA (Children's Organ Transplant Association).
I'll begin publishing reports of how much money has been raised for each charity after next quarter.
I woke up today, and to my delight, 1,909 unique individuals had already seen Fetopia this morning. In amazement, I looked through the log to see what could account for this...and found that a site called Entensity: The World's Best Free Porn Site has linked it (granted, under the name "This site is retarded.")
Well, seeing as though the first page of my website is not a picture of anything being crammed up a woman, the viewers have been quick to leave. So it won't result in any actual $$, but it is hilarious.
Also, on another note, I love, love, LOVE the fake myspaces that they have to use on tv shows. Like, I remember a CSINYPDSVU whatever where they were interviewing some teenager who was like "Yea, I met on through my MySite profile." That must be the most clever part of the writing experience, coming up with different ways to use MySpace's popularity without giving them free advertising.
Where are the special awards and recognition for the world of crafting? My business partner and I have looked, and have yet to find anything. So we took it upon ourselves to come up with the First Annual Plummy Awards for Excellence in Crafting.
All sorts of different media are represented, and this is a real award, voted on by your peers in the crafting community. Winners in each category will receive recognition online, as well as a reworked trophy, and one crafter will become "Best Overall Crafter" for 2006. Like I said, this is your peers recognizing your talent, nominating you for the award, and then returning to vote for you. Can you think of a better feeling?
We are officially taking nominations starting right now. Please, if you think someone is deserving of recognition, take the time to visit the webpage and nominate them. All nominees will be notified, regardless of whether or not they win.
Good luck to all nominees!
To vote, visit:2006 Plummy Awards
Postcards From Cletus begins today. I've posted the first 10 entries here:http://community.livejournal.com/cletuspostcards
Some of them are so cute! I'm really excited about the turnout so far. I figured out yesterday that this is actually 4 art projects rolled into 1. First, I make the actual Cletus, second, people take photographs of him, third, i edit the photographs into postcards, and fourth, i compile them into this project.
I'm so proud that something I made is traveling all over the place. It is such a neat feeling!
Anyone can vote for their favorites, you do not have to be a member of the community.
This Saturday is the first annual Caffeinated Craft Show, I'll be there, and I'm bringing the big display piece, so be sure to stop by and get your picture taken as a fetus!
There are going to be all sorts of different vendors there, so if you haven't done any Mother's Day shopping yet, or if you're a Mom and feel like treating yourself to something extra nice, or if you have no children, and no parents, and you just like to buy things, this is the place to be.
All vendors are local cottage-industry types, so you'll find one-of-a-kind and handmade items you can't find anywhere else. Help support indie businesses in Cincinnati!
